Forestay replacement any tips?
I was working on the boat today and noticed the upper forestay connected at the mast had two broken strands. I ordered a new one from BWyachts. I also have a CDI furler and was wondering if anyone had some pro tips.

Re: Optimum wind speed for an X?
I like to sail in 10-15 mph. For me it doesn't feel like I'm sailing until I'm at 4 knots, but I like 5 knots and that's what I aim for. Several times I achieved 6 knots comfortably. I hit 7 knots and thought imminent death was soon to follow. So I shy away from that if at all possible.

Re: Baby stays
Can someone please post pictures of the baby stays in use? The MRS pole came with my boat but no other rigging. I am trying to construct baby stays and would like to see the attachment points both to the deck and to the mast.

My first post
This is my first post to this forum or any other for that fact. As many others have done I have lurked in the shadows for many years dreaming of owning a Macgregor. I have many years of power boating experience in the oceans off Florida but never have I been on a sailboat. I purchased my 1996 Mac X ...
