I keep my 26M on the trailer, mast up in Tarpon Springs at the Doc of the Bay Marina. Costs about $125/mo. They have their own ramp and will put you in the water with their tractor 6 days a week (no tractor on Sunday). Located on the north side of the Anclote river across from downtown Tarpon Spring...

Randy congratulations. Sailing and grandchildren are a great combination. I have 6 who range in age from 14 to 4 and one of my major reasons for owning a boat is to teach them to sail. Sailing with a crew of your grandchildren is the best. Look forward to combining your two passions in a few years. ...

I was one of those unlucky ones who lost their dagger board and my dealer got the factory to replace it also. The safety line attaches to the top of the dagger board and goes through the hole in the bracket (you may have to drill the hole) that has the small pully for the control line for the board....

I installed an ST 4000 on my 26M by bolting a hardwood block to the underside of the fiberglass box on top of the pedestal and attached the bracket to the block with SS screws. I had to shorten the post slightly but otherwise it fit perfectly. Can't provide photos right now as I am in Missouri and m...

I am located in Florida and keep my :macm: on its trailer in a yard that allows me to keep it rigged and provides a tractor that drops us in the water and retreves us when we come in. Cheaper than a wet slip and a lot less maintenance, while affording the convience of easy in and out. Was especially...

Dimitri, I don't have any choice but to stay in the Anclote, Caladesi, Honeymoon Island area as my tow vehicle will be in Missouri so I can't trailer down to Charlotte Harbor. John

To be honest I have not tried real hard to see if there is some way to fold the bimini down as I installed the seats in November and only put the bimini up once to make sure it would fit in the up position with the new seats. I really don't use the bimini this time of year so I have not experimented...

Ken, I pay $145/Mo. with unlimited "put-ins" and "take-outs". Not cheap but an inwater slip in that area is $10/ft/Mo and this way I don't have to worry about bottom maintenance. John L :macm:

In answer to the question regarding the bimini and the stern rail seats being compatable - yes and no. With the bimini up there is no interference. Obviously the seats get no shade from the bimini. Anyone sitting in the stern seats has their head above the bimini and has a good view of the sails and...

Mark, I keep my boat on the trailer with the mast up at a boat yard on the Anclote River in downtown Tarpon Springs. They have a ramp and push you in the water with a tractor. They do mostly power boats. I am the only sail boat right now. I am sure they would be happy to put you in the water and kee...

Dimitri, I prefer the shorter sail 3-4 days as I have to be back the night of the 26th. St Pete sounds like a great place to start although if you come north I might just meet you at Caladesi by sailing south out of Tarpon Springs. The trip down to Charlotte is probably too far for me on this trip d...

Harrison, I bought a set of Stern seats from Blue Water Yachts last year and find they really increase the appearant size of the cockpit. Crewmembers sitting on them are out of the way for people moving about in the cockpit and it is a great view. As I recall they were about $500. and they were ship...

Ken, Dimitri has a group of 3 of us planning to get together in mid March. Dimitri and I have our boats in the Tampa Bay area. My problem is I will be out of town until the 18th and can't be ready to sail until the 19th so I may have to catch up to the group if you sail earlier. I am good to go unti...

Bill, My experience has been around large military radars for most of my life, but the physics is the same for these small radars. They are pulse radars which means they send out a small burst of energy and spend most of the time listening for the reflected signal to return. A 16 mile radar may have...
