Re: 1972 V21 new owner
Well , I did not really lose my enthusiasm but ended up buying a Snipe last week and am going to concentrate on that for now. I sailed it last weekend and it needs no major work. I need to be out on the water learning and not working on a project. I am going to keep the boat and maybe do something w...

Re: 1972 V21 new owner
Probably was not 1/3 full of water but I would say 600 gallons. Oh - just 600 gallons :?: :!: :? I understand you are a new owner but there is one general rule of thumb we try to follow - THE WATER GOES ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE HULL :P And I thought I took on extreme rebuild projects! Best of luck and...

Re: 1972 V21 new owner
the water is all pumped out with a portable sump pump. It took about 4 hrs. I worked on the link. Hopefully his one will work. I will have some newer interior pictures soon. I am going to get all the foam and everything else out that is not attached. https://picasaweb.google.com/10978813828299821129...

Re: 1972 V21 new owner
thanks for all the tips so far everyone. Here here is a picassa link for pictures I took before any clean up. It was free, right? Probably was not 1/3 full of water but I would say 600 gallons. I am showing these crappy pictures because I believe you all will be amazed when I am done. Please let me ...

Re: 1976 V 21 Project
Venture for speed? I have a new 1972 21' or 22'; not sure yet and that is what I was thinking that it would be some fun. I know it won't point like a keel boat but it's a trade off. I'll let you know when I get her on the water in a few months. I did get a copy of "fix it and sail" and it ...

Re: 1972 V21 new owner
Bob - let us know where you are located...so we can avoid the cleaning duties... :D I am in Birmingham, Al and about 45 minutes from my club where I am planning on doing most of the work in the yard with boat on it's trailer. I may bring the boat home and work on it in the driveway for a week or 2 ...

Re: 1972 V21 new owner
I heard about the pizza thing. That may cost me more then to fix up the boat. I went back today and all the water is out. The boat was tipped back on the trailer sitting on its stern so all the water was in that area. Hopefully the bulkheads are not rotted out. I said it was clear but the muck was s...

Re: 1972 V21 new owner
started pumping water from the hull today. The boat is 1/3 full. 15 years of sitting in the woods the water was clear and odorless. I think it came in from the companion way top over the years( i hope). I will check for soft spots when water is gone but it looks pretty good. The tiller was stored in...

1972 V21 new owner
Hello All, I just became the owner of a 1972 Venture 21. This is my first boat and a fixer upper. My sailing experience up to now is crewing on Snipes and Flying Scots for the last 11 months with a little tiller time during and after the Sunday races. I still plan on crewing and learning on those bo...
