Re: BWYachts response times
It's been about three months since I dealt with them, but they were great. I ordered one day (called them) and it came the next day. I was amazed. That said, when I went up there to get replacement sails, they didn't stock them at the time and would have them in three days or so. To me that meant th...

I used 5/16" and added a pair of blocks to make it a lot easier to raise them.

Re: Center board question
Next time I'll read through before posting. When I read my earlier post it didn't really convey what I was trying to say. One end of the center board line terminates near the bottom of the mast and that's the one that is bunching up in the center board housing when the board is in the up position. W...

Center board question
Hey all, I bought the 08' used so I'm not sure what normal is for the center board and the line that controls it. When I pull it up the line that stops it from going to far down (falling out?) bunches up and I'm always surprised it doesn't get caught between the center board and its housing. The lin...

Re: blue water yachts
They answered my phone call three days ago. I ordered two mast bearings, rear cushions for the stern rails, boarding ladder, and two double cup holders that go on the stern rails. They arrived yesterday! Ordered one day and delivery the next...amazing! I also checked them out at the Seattle boat sho...

Re: Mac on steroids....IMEXUS
Also, from their site, the boat they actually have for sale only has a 17 gallon tank (no idea where they hide it). Not going far with a 90 hp + motor.

Re: Any MacGregor/Venture owners in the Tacoma Area?
We just bought a 2008 M and we have it in a slip in Gig Harbor. We would be interested. We're new to sailing and haven't had many opportunities (wind) to practice sail handling, but with the Mac, we still just put around the Sound and enjoy the water.

Re: Quick question for the old salts
It is possible that you had a small air bubble trapped in the tank after filling and during your sail, the bubble worked it's way to the vent. I doubt that it involves a significant amount of ballast. but you can move the crew forward and aft prior to closing the gate valve. This should burp the ta...

Re: Running and accessing wiring
If you have seen crimps fail, The Operator did something wrong.. The wrong tool or the wrong size terminal..I always carried two or more sets of " Lineman's Pliers" Manufactured by both Klein and Ideal.. Ideal has a built in sta-con crimper , but its a One Size Fits all and it truly, ONLY...

Re: A Sub 60 Minute Rig and De-rig System
I'm the ultimate "M" newbee, and I rig and de-rig in around 30 minutes. Not trying to impress, brag, or BS, but the mac system just seems to take that long. Maybe I don't obsess enough about the details (go ahead and jump on that), but so far it seems pretty easy and quick, though once I d...

Quick question for the old salts
I notice that the my ballast is not full when I get back to the harbor after any motoring. The vent plug is new and adjusted so that it barely makes it in the hole without some rather aggressive pushing and the fill valve is down as far as closed as it will go. So the question to all is does the fil...

Re: Running and accessing wiring
I am not worthy...you guys definitely have the electrical wire running process down to an art. Between the tight gaps, the raw fiberglass knives seemingly cast around every corner of every access port I could find, and yes, I'm still trying to get the fiberglass splinters out of hands and arms, I ju...

Re: Need Engine Tilt Advice
The GPS (and other house appliances) are wired to the house batt. The starting batt is dedicated to the motor. So when the house batt on my boat ran down the GPS lost depth and temp. Everything else seemed okay. I would bring a voltage meter with you and if it acts up again, check it. Oh.....if you ...

Re: Need Engine Tilt Advice
Glad it's working. But I would still check voltage. Like I said, mine started acting wonky (no depth, speed) when the voltage dropped). Everything else seemed fine. Turned out to be no charging on my house batt. BTW, do you plug in when at port? Maybe THAT charges your batts back up and makes every...
