Hey Herschel.
Probably the most famous musician from Saskatchewan is Joni Mitchell.
You may have heard of her.

Hi Tony.
We sail out of Palliser Regional Park near Riverhurst, so not in your video.
Nice video, though!

Our M26 appears in a music video...
It’s a remake of a favourite Saskatchewan tune, the Last Saskatchewan Pirate. For the non-Canadians out there: Saskatchewan is a Canadian province well-known for its grain farms and the Roughriders, its Canadian Football League team. “Salty Bob” and “Jolly Roger” played for the Roughriders in the 19...

Re: Pull starting a merc 50
One last comment on this. I have pull started my 50hp Mercury. Now "officially" a senior, I would rather not relive that experience. My booster pack is a Stanley that I bought on sale for about $100 4-5 years ago. I have used it to jump start 3 different vehicles and the boat once. Most re...

Re: Pull starting a merc 50
If a dead battery is your concern, just carry a booster pack with you ( the type people use to jump start their vehicles).
I have used this successfully in the past.
Just make sure you keep it charged.

Shredded Genoa
Due to a wicked thunderstorm, my roller furling genoa on my 2003 26M has been shredded. I would like to source a replacement ASAP (roller furling genoa or jib). I would prefer to source it in Canada for faster shipping. Any thoughts? Anyone switching head sails and looking to sell their old sa...

Re: Methyl hydrate( methyl alcohol )
Willy,
Thanks for the tip on Bioflame. I will be switching to that once I use up my fondue fuel.

Re: Methyl hydrate( methyl alcohol )
Denatured alcohol is almost impossible to find in Canada.
Your Origo stove seals tight when shut off, so fumes should be minimal.
The skull and crossbones on the label should keep you from drinking it

Re: Methyl hydrate( methyl alcohol )
I use fondue fuel in my Origo stove.
If you buy Methyl Hydrate at Canadian Tire in the paint section it says fondue fuel right on the label.
Quote from their web site: "Can be used as fondue fuel or fuel for marine unpressurized alcohol stoves, and dissolving gums, resins, and celluloid"

Re: Winter around Lake Michigan
Two years ago, a girl I worked with, went through the ice on her snowmobile. Her husband managed to get her out and home safely. They were able to retrieve the sled the next day. Scary stuff.

This time of year our lake becomes a "road".
