Re: water leak - 26S
Sounds to me like it could be condensation occuring on the undersides of the cushions and collecting in the storage areas. On the other hand, do you see any streaks on the hull liner of the aft berth? If so, I think that would be due to leaks around the hull to deck joint. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Furler or Hank
I used to have a roller furler with jib and a light air genny on it at different times. I no longer use it because I found it easier to raise the mast without the furler/sail combo attached. I now use hank on storm jib, regular jib and the light air genny. I try to plan ahead so I don't have to chan...

Re: Side Support Wires
I leave mine on so I don't slice my feet open on the deck-mounted brackets.

Re: 1988 Mac 26D Dagger questions
I read that you can look down the daggerboard trunk and make sure that the top of the board is above the water level in the trunk. I haven't been out on my boat in awhile but it seems to me that the board goes down in the trunk maybe 3-4 feet at the most.

Re: Jib sheet questions
I too just have one set of jib sheets with a metal shackle and have never had a problem with them. If the wind is howling and the sheets are flapping around, I just grab them as I go to the bow and hold them to keep them under control. Haven't had any issues or injuries and I've been up there under ...

Re: weather helm/lee helm
This is probably a dumb question but do you have water in the ballast tank?

Re: jib roller furling
I wasn't planning on giving it away...I'll entertain reasonable offers. It came with my '88 26D when I bought it in 1993.

Re: Dismasted!
Hi Guys, I called my local Mac dealer and they said to contact Bluewater also. In addition to the mast snapping, both pieces are also bent so unfortunately I think that welding them together is not an option although I had considered that before I looked along their lengths. Thanks for the advice. I...

Dismasted!
Hi everyone, I am new here and this is my first post. I wish it was about something else however! I was sailing my 1988 Mac 26D in Wyoming this last week and was hit by what I believe was a micro-burst from a nearby thunderstorm. I know that I shouldn't have been sailing near thunderstorms and I cer...
