Re: Spreader Replacement

After I bent the first spreader on the lifelines I started unpinning them to bungy to the mast for trailering, I believe I got that tip on this board a long time ago. Solved the problem of bending on the lifelines, but then one day one of the stays slipped in the clamp probably as I was repinning th...

Re: wiring harness corrosion.

Thanks Dave, I suppose water can travel a long ways by capillary action. But I'm going to chop 10' off the harness and rebuild the connector, I just ordered the pins and seals from the honda dealer. Replacing it would remove all doubt, but the harness is quite expensive and money is tight now. I'll ...

wiring harness corrosion.

Last Tuesday I took my wife and four of her visiting relatives including 15 and a 5 year boys from Portland out for a day of boating. It was a spectacular day, culminated by their first snorkeling experience. Took them to Peanut Island, just facing the Lake Worth inlet (Port of Palm Beach, FL) at hi...

Re: Wheel lug bolts for 26M trailer

I picked up a few recently from a local auto parts store, Bennett Auto Supply, in Lake Park Florida. They manually matched it as: Part number: 610-192 Description: 1/2-20x2-1/32 Wh # Manufacturer: ACDELCO This is a Florida chain, but they are online at: http://www.bennettauto.com/ and I was able to ...

Hi Argonaut, That's good news, as the leaf spring u-bolts on my trailer have just shed a layer and I'm about to replace them with galvanized ones. I'm spending way too much time fighting the rust on this thing. Which Road King model did you get? {on edit I see you gave a report in an earlier thread,...

Hardcrab, I like the idea of a temporary seat. If I did this then I could wait to cut the stock seat until I've had a test run or two to build confidence in the mod. I'll have to contemplate the construction tho, it's not so straightforward. Catigale, that's the one. A "Kidde Battery-operated V...

Bastonjock, Completely agree, wouldn't even consider storing it on its side. I plan to store it in the second position shown in the pictures where I can tie it down securely and not interfere with raising the engine. The only big question I have left is the one I touched on in my original post:"...

Hi Mark, The generator's dimensions are: 20.1" x 11.4" x 16.7". I think the cockpit is the only practical place to store it. Anchor locker is not only too small, but already full of anchor & rode. Dave, $129 is crazy cheap for a generator, I might have to give it another look sinc...

Thanks Alex, I probably should have posted this to that thread instead of starting a new one. I may end up storing the generator behind the ladder as Daniel does, draining the gas before doing so. I love Tahoe Jack's mod, but the 26X has a lot more space in the engine well then the M. The eu1000 wou...

Honda eu2000 generator on a 26M?

The admiral and I are looking forward to moving beyond daysailing and spending some time in the keys, but first I need to figure out where to put my generator as it's almost A/C time in Florida. Jack Sorensen appears to have the best solution to this, but that is mostly an X only solution. I knocked...

once again I've posted without doing an adequate search first. I see John and other have discussed the relative noise of the kipor vs honda in another thread. I should know better by now. and the kipor 1000's I saw once on the auction site seem to have disappeared. :(

Hi John,
How is that Kipor generator holding up for you? Can you compare the noise level to a similar Honda unit? At the price you paid it seems hard to go wrong in most any case. I just joined rbauction and will try to pick one of these up at the Orlando, FL auction on October 6.

good story Andy. Although not the peaceful overnight you expected I'm glad it worked out and that you are even more enthusiastic about the Macs capabilities. I have duel 12gal tempos, ran one dry last weekend, and am going to see how much I can tilt out. I'm curious about the anchor ball Mark mentio...

I used to lay the furler over the spreaders, but the luff began to take on the shape of the hump after a few hot afternoons. Now I unpin and remove the spreaders each and every time, and bungee them with the mast and furler. Not only does this prevent bend in the furler luff, but removes the possibi...
