Re: New wind indicator supports rotating mast
Looks like a great new product! I haven't been on here in ages since I sold my 26x last summer, but it's nice to see that new things are being created. I would have really liked to have this when I was first learning to sail! I can't get the trim right if I don't know where the wind is coming from !

Re: My 1998 Mac X is very very slow while sailing.
Don't worry, Mine is slow too :) Everything is a compromise though. My speed is generally 4.5 to 6.5 on a windy day. Keep practicing your sail trim, if you have a boom vang, experiment with adjusting that, and also make sure the outhaul is tight enough on the main. Move the cars back and forth if yo...

Re: Storing the dinghy outboard
Dave thats a great idea! Although i'd be a little nervous until I put the suctions to the test for a bit...it looks to be a much easier solution ! I love how we keep finding ways to do things differently

I have a 4 hp hp Johnson that I just mount to one of the rear rails. Its not shown in this photo, but on my last trip i grabbed a small block of wood and put it between the motor mounts and the metal rail and screwed down ...

Re: Daily distance on cruising
I take trips of 21 miles in one day often, and its not terrible if there is wind available. If you can hit 5+ knots, it makes the trip that much quicker. I sail solo, and yes I'm tired when I get there...but I love being out on the water, just pulling the halyards and lines, fixing this, tinkering w...

Re: speaking of rudders ????
The water helps weigh them down, as stated above... and when you raise them it should drain out of the holes, so no need to put resin or suck them out!

Re: 26X centerboard is stuck - won't drop down!
I beached mine one time and got a rock stuck between the centerboard and housing.... I considered jumping in the water and pulling it down... but it was march and very cold, so I just pulled the boat out and removed the object. That is probably your best bet, that way you can clean what ever is buil...

I will be heading to Michigan tomorrow night and will be back with the boat so ill snap a photo if i still have the bolt. The bail is a u shape, and seems to fit the mast just fine

Re: Boom Vang Bolt keeps bending...
Dave, i do have a boom bail at the bottom of the mast, but the bolt looks like it could be too long which is maybe why the bolt gets bent in a u shape?
