Re: 1972 V-21 Questions and progress

I thought of jacking up the stern a tad while it was still on the trailer and seeing if it would come loose. I was under her today and it has to be stripped and reglassed for sure. Losts of cracked glass and rust..... My side yard is a hill on both sides of the house, so that won't work out, but I c...

Re: looking at a venture 22

My $850 V21 was extremely dirty when I bought her, but a good powerwashing did the trick. Buffing and waxing the hull helped, but it was pretty obvious that she was painted over. My mast was fairly easy to set up for a first timer (ever!) but I really want a Mast raising system to save my back.... B...

V-21 cushions

I am in the process of taking the old vinyl cushion covers apart and using them for patterns for new covers. Didnt know if anyone out there needed tracings for missing/worn cushions on yours......PM or email if I can help you out. Wes Use icons under the profile. ------------------------------------...

Re: 1972 V-21 Questions and progress

I have the boat in the driveway at the moment, but I can get a slot in a storage lot for $35 a month if need be (probably for winter). The keel is glass wrapped iron, and there is alot of corrosion in there, so it looks like the keel is coming out, just have to figure out how to drop it while its on...

Re: Considering trolling motor in place of 10 hp Mercury

I picked up a used Minn Kota trolling motor for my V-21. Its a 32 Lbs thrust, I also found a solar charger to keep a trickle going into the battery when I have it hooked up. I paid $72 for the troller, there is a used consignment style sporting goods place up by work. Troller was able to move the bo...

1972 V-21 Questions and progress

Looking into my V-21 a bit more. I have had her out for a "shake down" sail and we loved it! Had issues with the keel not dropping, not sure if its wedged or what? Thinking of taking a small bar with next outing to see if I can tap it loose from above... Also trying to figure out the winch...

Re: Bought a 1972 V-21

I apologize if that came off as a snide comment, my mind is running in circles and I keep trying to finish honey-do stuff so I can work on the boat.

I really do appreciate the responses! This is my first boat ever, so I am sure I will ramble and run on quite a bit.

Re: Bought a 1972 V-21

Thanks guys. I appreciate it! Any idea on where the battery was supposed to be? I see there are wires to the mast, stern and bow lights. There are also some switches in the cabin on the bench seat/bunk area right as you enter.....I cannot seem to find any good diagrams or explanations for these swit...

Bought a 1972 V-21
