Bottom Paint
I applied my bottom paint a couple of months ago. I started off using slimy grimy. It didn't work for me so I pressure washed the bottom. After that I sanded the bottom with 80 grit drywall mesh. I used blue painters tape for the waterline and bootstrap. I also used vivid bright hard paint. I used o...

asy spinaker
First time we set it using the Jib halyard. Knew there could be fouling problems but told myself it would not happen just one time. Wrong. Dropped the mast and installed a separate spinaker pulley and halyard. It works a lot better but I still am learning how to fly and adjust it. When it's set and ...

Steering linkage binding with 90 hp
Thanks Frank. I went and checked the geometry again and the Anti-cavitation plate is 1-3/8" below the bottom of the hull. The simplest solution is just not raising the motor all the way up with the powertrim and tilt switch. When I go back out, I think I 'll try removing the crossbar and seeing...

Steering linkage binding with 90 hp
Just finished installing a 90 HP on my 99 :macx:. When I raise the motor it binds on the steering linkage. The motor hits the crossbar that connects the two rudders together. Has anyone else had this problem? Any tried and true remedys? I guess I can always fabricate a new crossbar but I'm hoping th...

winter sailing
Luckily, I pulled my
to apply bottom paint and have not had time to put her back in the slip before the winter warning hit Austin. I use Kevin's suggested method with one slight modification. I add a little water to the "Appletons" and all the winter problems go away.

Spinnaker
I'm still playing with my Spinnaker. The first time I tried to fly it the wind was blowing. We sailed upwind until almost at the dam the near end of the lake (Lake Travis). We turned down wind and the fun began. My son was trying to hook up the sock/spinnaker while I attempted to heave to. Neither o...

I used my digital level on my mast while in my dock. The meter read 98 degrees. My new Loos gage arrived a couple of weeks ago but I have not used it yet. Going to take her out for a motor change and bottom paint. I'll take pictures and post them as work proceeds.

I'd like to explore the eastcost as it is much closer. The Tucson sailing club's trip to the west coast really loo...
