Re: DC pannels - where to buy.
If you just want to add a couple of switches, the maker of the original panel is available in a 6 switch model (says 4 but it's 6). https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sea-Dog-4221101-Aluminum-6-Switch-Panel-Vert/32738381?listId=9eae426e-f879-4fca-9028-d92f7faae67e&listType=WL&listItemId=d398fa08-7a0...

I use a safety chain from the winch post to the bow eye. Safety is the most important reason. If anyone has any doubt about the safety of their boat being secured, then that is all the reason they need to use a strap. They need to use a wide strap with sufficient strength for the job. Ratchets shoul...

My dealer also recommended AGAINST using a strap. He has been in the Mac business a long time. He was very adamant about traveling at a safe speed. If you are going fast enough for your boat to be bouncing on the trailer, a strap will not protect you from the damage you are doing to your boat, espec...

No one ever comes back to tell us … A couple of friends sold their sailboat and agreed to deliver it to Bermuda. The further they got out the more they realized that finding a small island that far out, not to mention the changing whether, is quite a task. They didn’t have GPS but even if you do, yo...

My little home town is the former manufacturing center for a major brand of grills. Actually, they were an exclusive brand of grills. The company stood behind their product and their dealers and fought the sale of their product in mass numbers and discount markets. Few people in my area could afford...

This mod by Deja Vu will give you some info in the install. His is on the left side but it can be installed on the right side. I have an E-Tec version that was installed on the right side. I took pictures to the dealer and they promised everything would be as I wanted but I sure had doubts. They rea...

I did it, but not by choice. I had a 99X that I sold when I got sick a few years ago. I’m happy with the M but it was a hard decision to make about which boat. When I started looking, there were some nice 2000-02 X’s available at good prices. When I finally got ready to buy, they all disappeared. I ...
