Re: Mast Raising with Furler Fun

Thanks, guys - insights much appreciated. The idea of quick release pins for the spars is neat, as is tying off the furler drum. I Since the furler-forestay is fixed length how do you tension it - by the stays? There is an interesting video on YouTube showing an :macx: owner who had the head of the ...

Mast Raising with Furler Fun

Hi - I've just practiced with raising the mast on my new-2-me :macm: and after learning through the first set of snags concluded my main issue is the furled headsail (CDI furler). At least on this boat, it and the sail add quite a bit of weight to the mast, and I found its position hard to control, ...

Re: Brakes & Bearings - how to dismantle on 08 alloy Mac trailer

If you have Buddies it should be obvious- a metal nipple sitting dead center of the blue disk; just pump until the disk edges are proud of the metal cylinder surrounding it; as in the picture. The disk should 'float' on the grease when you push on its sides.

Re: Ball height for 26M aluminum trailer?

Thanks, guys - looks like I shd be within specs unless my tow vehicle to be, (2003 Dakota, ball unloaded at 19") is unusual; the idea the trailer shd be level seems right on. Will check as soon as I can hookup; hopefully it sinks an inch and/or levels. I towed the rig to the boatyard with anoth...

Re: Boat purchase and registration ?

This is a bit late for an answer, but someone may be trolling for info: I bought a boat, trailer AND tow vehicle in Alaska June 2011, and imported them to BC via Washington State. (ferry from Juneau to Bellingham - then across border). Paid online for Manufacturer's recall letter for vehicle (GM wan...

Re: Trailer Size

I just measured my 2007 aluminum trailer. I believe it is the same as yours. Distance between front ladder and axle: 198 inches, (+\-). Overhang from rear of trailer to boat stern, (bow snug against V notch): 41 inches, (+\-). Total overhang from rear of trailer to rear of upright rudders: 71 inche...

Trailer Size

Can anyone tell me the distance between the jockey wheel and the single axle wheels on the late model (2008) factory trailers? Also, if possible, the rear overhang to the boat stern.

Hrm. OK. But you need to go forward to the mast to adjust it?
Forgive me for butting in, but you cd just run the line back to the cockpit. Not much tension in it so friction losses should not be an issue.

Hi , I hope to be picking my new-to-me 2008 :macm: in a couple of weeks, and need to know the wheel size of the factory trailer (part aluminum). Can someone enlighten me?
