Cavitation Plates
Hello everyone! I am writing in about cavitation plates. What do they do? does it make a difference? are they worth buying? I have a 2000 MacX with a Suzuki 50HP on it. Thanks, Mike

Re: 26X swingkeel
Hi All, My 26X is a 2001, and like I said I have only had it since early this year. The rope is fraying just a little where the cams lock into it, but not anywhere else. Again, thanks for all the great ideas out there.
Mike

Re: 26X swingkeel
Thank you all so much, I'll try backing to see if that works, if not I like the idea of running a rope from back to front at the dock, and I have plenty of tent poles from all my different tents that I'm sure I could find one that works. You all are the best! Happy sailing. Mike

26X swingkeel
Hello my Mac brothers. I took my 26X out on SF Bay yesterday on a picture perfect day. I went to lower my keel and could not get it down more than one foot of the rope attached to it. I have only sailed it a few times and I thought I remember it taking up much more of the lowering rope. Is it maybe ...

Backstay was what I meant, auto correct on my handheld got the better of me.

Re: still stumped adjusting shrouds
Hi Torontonians, I made the backstage adjustable by first taking the backstage cable off and having it shortened by six feet at West Marine, (be sure to have them make an eye again). I then purchased from Svendsens Marine here in the SF Bay Area a "Lewmar 50mm synchro fiddle block with a Becket...

Re: still stumped adjusting shrouds
I changed the backstage to an adjustable backstage, made my life so much easier when rigging the boat to sail, and I can adjust the mast easily by just pulling on the rope . Would also help ease the shrouds for adjusting.

Re: Roller Main and other stuff
Hi Dennis, thanks for the laugh, I like your idea about telescoping mast! I guess my main reason for the boom question is that I find it takes me much longer than 20 seconds to set up the boom :D Actually I live in the SF Bay Area and I usually go out a few times a week in the summer and fall, so I ...

Roller Main and other stuff
Hi All, I finally scrimped and saved enough to buy the 2001 X that I have wanted for awhile, Yeah! So I was looking at the Macgregor website this afternoon just killing some time and saw a video of a 26M with a roller furling main sail. Do they sell those? does anyone have one and do you like it? Ca...

Re: 26m rotating mast
Hi All, You have given much to think about! Thank You. One forum member asked what I liked better about the X layout, and I have to say it's mainly due to the layout of where the head is located. I'm 6'3" and scrunching down and crawling to the back of the M just doesn't work for me. I have tri...

26m rotating mast
I am going to be buying a 26X soon, and I was wondering if the rotating mast setup that is used on the 26M is available as an aftermarket kit to install on the 26X? Also, would it be worth the time and expense if it is an option? BTW, I am getting the 26X because I like the cabin layout better.
Thanks
Thanks
