Re: 26M Swim platform
I would love it if someone would make an inflatable swim platform similar to the inflatable docks, but with an outboard cut out similar to the swim decks above. I love the utility of the swim platform, but I just would not want it permanently attached.

Re: Repowering with a Suzuki DF90a
When I was repowering, I was considering looking for a used Yamaha 90 2 stroke, but they were hard to find and if you did find them people were asking almost the cost of a new motor. Although it's smelly and loud, the Yamaha 90 is about 80 lbs lighter than my Suzuki 90 and it is also built like a ta...

Re: Repowering with a Suzuki DF90a
I don't get on here often, but I didn't seem to get a reply to my Swim Ladder problem. I don't consider it safe to single hand without a ladder as I can't imagine a lad my age and size getting aboard any other way. Hi Tom, My stock ladder just barely clears the motor when pointed straight forward. ...

Re: Blew out my head sail tack
Came back from a cruise and found this: IMG_8743 small.jpg Sail tack has lost its hardware and come unattached. Now I forget how to reattach it. :( It should have a small D-shackle attaching it to the drum on the starboard side, just like the line on the port side, yes? While I'm at it, this is jus...

Hmm interesting location for the port lights. Gotta remember to keep them closed while under way.

Re: Trailer Tongue Question
Yep bolting the coupler made a lot of sense. Drilling through the 1/4" tubing with a cordless drill was a pain though. I wish I drilled all the holes on my drill press before I welded it

Re: What size lug wrench for 14"tires on 26X?
Our size trailers typically use 1/2 20 studs which means that the nuts will require a 13/16 socket/wrench. Small chance it could be 3/4 so bring both.

Re: Trailer Tongue Question
So here's the photos of the replacement tube. You can hardly tell the difference except that I welded the end of the tongue to thick piece of angle iron and bolted it to the cross member. In the future the Angle will provide extra strength to the cross member as well as make it easy to replace witho...

Re: Trailer Tongue Question
Just thought I'd update this thread with a couple of pics :o https://i.postimg.cc/NL1YB6nT/PXL-20210627-011437788-MP.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/jLtT5WV1/PXL-20210627-011443748.jpg Cutting the tongue tube into pieces was very revealing. The rest of the trailer is in decent shape since most of the frame...

Definitely get the M's raising system or modify your old one. Makes a huge difference.

Re: Is 150% KH 5oz genoa too heavy for CDI
Ok, maybe it is time to revisit the ole mast-raising system, then! Do you have the original mast raising system or the m style with the integrated winch? With the old system I can understand how one would think it is too much trouble. I modified mine to :macm: like with an harbor freight trailer wi...

No more testing as of yet. I got side tracked and started replacing all my standing rigging and doing trailer work. So many boat projects to take care of

Re: Trailer Tongue Question
Ugh I'm disgusted after looking at all the rust. The 2nd picture is the paint cracking from when the tongue was bending under load. The last picture was a piece of galvanized angle that I welded many years ago when I found the hole near the crossmember. Currently the bow is supported with some brick...

Re: Trailer Tongue Question
Thanks everyone for the advice. It is the original trailer and I have a naturally occurring drainage hole in the back of the tube :o . The welder backed out due to liability concerns and his insurance. I am thinking about just doing it myself... I could just replace it with a 3" square tubing a...
