Re: Bow 'D'-ring issue

I have the same problem with my M25, though not as severe. My plan this weekend, (or as soon as I get to it), it to cut a hole in the panel above the vberth for access and the cover it with a round hatch. Then I'll have access in the future if needed. I got mine from Ebay, but I think West Marine as...

Re: Lady T-boned My Trailer

I just reread your post and saw you already have a Mac M so I guess maybe a new trailer is in order, eh? Aluminum, dual axle, extended tongue, oh well, one can dream...

Re: Lady T-boned My Trailer

If you want to check the "squareness" of the trailer, measure from the front to back, leftfront to rightrear, and rightfront to leftrear. The numbers should be the same. Of course, the trick is finding a point in front that is the same distance on both sides from the rear... and hopfully y...

Re: Trailering w/motor and rudder attached

I've an m25 with a Honda 9.9. I carry the rudder in the cockpit, (paranoid about incidental damage-I've already spent alot of time repairing it), but leave the outboard on the mount. I just raise it up and latch the mount in that position. I also tie it up, just to be sure... It's heavy, but well wi...

Re: Boat Cover For 04 M

Oh, and I secured the uprights to the stanchions with zip ties. They're fairly unobtrusive so I've just left them connected. The frame supports the 25 by 12 foot tarp very well.

Re: Boat Cover For 04 M

The 1/2" pvc pipe works really well. I cut 4 pieces about stanchion high, added 45 degree connectors to the ends and bent another section of pipe across the boat, with a tee in the center. Then I added a section between the front arch near the bow and the rear arch near the cockpit. That ties e...

Re: Wanting to Get Back Into Sailing

I second, er, third that. I can get my mast up alone, (cheering provided by wife), in about 30 minutes. What I found works for me is always reef too early. Too late is not an option and just in time never happens... :)

Re: Finally the maiden voyage after a year

Wow. You had me holding my breath as you knelt to connect the starboard stay. I couldn't do this with my hobiecat let alone my M25. Kudos to you! 8)
Congrats on getting your boat wet. Loved the video!

Re: Problem with spreaders resting on lifelines. How to fix ?

Hi: Not to get off topic, but I suspend my mast between the bow pulpit and the stern brace which raises it about to the lifeline hight. The mast was a"little saggy" so I made a built-up 2x4 block to bolt into the step. It also gives me another secure place to tie the mast down. of course I...

Re: Macgregor 25 newbie owner questions

For a less expensive alternative to Idasailor, you might look on Ebay. I've often seen replacement rudders for M25s on there. I can't speak to the fit or finish , but they're less than 500-dollars as I recall. The rudder housing on my 25 was somewhat wallered out, requiring welding a washer over it ...

Do they even make waterbeds anymore? :o You might try twin size mattresses. They make them fairly tall now for us older campers who don't like to sleep too close to the ground.

Re: Furler Project

I've been wanting to add a furler to my M25, but balked at the cost. I just saw your video on utube. Nicely done! It was laid out so well, I drew up my own plans from them. I'm thinking of aluminium just because it easier for me to weld. The pvc pipe idea is great. I figure the savings will g...
