Re: Where did you install Honda EU2000i generator?
Thinking of buying Honda EU2000i generator in spring and looking for install ideas. Pictures always help. Thanks!!! I've tried several positions for a generator. On the bow at anchor, which is what almost all boaters at Silver Glen Springs in FL do to keep the noise and exhaust far from the cockpit...

Re: Still have your factory trailer? Take a good look at it!
Don't get me wrong. I think the boat, itself, is great, and the best compromise for my needs. I don't regret buying the boat at all and don't think I will ever need anything more capable or larger as will just be more trouble. I was initially happty that I was buying the model with the new aluminum ...

Re: Still have your factory trailer? Take a good look at it!
Also, no motor on the boat, so 350LBS lighter. That way, the tires weren't hitting the fenders every time the flatbed hit a bump.

Re: Still have your factory trailer? Take a good look at it!
My aluminum factory trailer, new to the 2008 models, lasted exactly two retrievals from the boat ramp. The axle twisted on the second one destroying the tires in a 30 mile trip. I must have gotten one of the first models that was extremely lightly built and could not handle the weight of the boat wi...

Re: Confused about AC
Could you use an AC to dehumidify air in the cabin during winter? Does it work in low temperatures? If you were trying to use it as a regular AC, with the condenser outside, you would just freeze up the evaporator. It should work as a small dehumidifier if you put the whole thing inside the cabin a...

Re: Confused about AC
Check out the Yamaha 2000 generators, too, to run your AC, absolutely amazing machines. I bought three many years ago, one for boat, one for house and spare in case destroyed by salt water but spare is still in the box 7 years later. I have had great success with them. I put synthetic oil in and run...

Louis, Thank you very much for the link. I can only dream since I don't have the available free time in my life to do what they did so at least I can experience a little of it through their writings. Nice they included videos too. Bob

Cheap, quick bidet and shower= happy females
In the 20 years I've lived outside the USA (Saudi Arabia), the absolute best cultural thing I've experienced that the USA doesn't have routinely, (not kidding)is that almost all bathrooms in many countries, have a bidet hose next to the toilet. After you get used to washing your rear with water then ...

Re: porta potti
We just had to replace our holding tank ( the bottom piece ) because it was not supported on all 4 corners and had created a split about an inch long on the bottom and at first it leaked a little then when it got full and the weather got hot about 3 weeks ago it leaked a lot more and I happened to ...

Re: MINI MAC FOR POOL
If you have a pool, don't be afraid of trying to make one. I didn't use any tool more complicated than a jig saw and since never in waves, bottom is flat about 3/4" . Sides are about 1/4" and deck about 3/8". We get our plywood in mm here. Made the cockpit higher than waterline with d...

MINI MAC FOR POOL
The kids wanted their own MAC for the pool so I made one years ago from plywood covered with cloth and epoxy. They wanted the blue hull option. Got theirs before I even got mine. Great way for the kids to get use out of the pool in cold weather and develop sea legs. No water ballast though, has a bo...

Re: If you could do it all again... which motor?
Answer- 25hp diesel outboard. I got the Suzuki 70 for my M and was surprised how little space was left to pass by to boarding ladder. Good thing I have skinny legs. That is the only downside with it. It was about the same price as smaller Suzuki but 100lbs more. I'm not interested in driving around ...

Re: 100+ Gallons of Water Storage
Thanks Big T, I'm no where near my boat now but if you have a funnel with ridges on the bottom that would let the air out as the water goes in although the fill hole is small and would take a very long time. Got my idea of Dry Tortugas from Conch Cruisers website. Would be fun to go with a group but...

Re: Poor mans impact wrench
To remove rusted bolts you can also heat with a torch first which really helps a lot. Use long pipe on wrench to get strong leverage and apply gentle steady force so not to round off nut (also use six sided socket)or break stud. Saw my dad(car mechanic) do this sucessfully often on rusted bolts.
