Check this one out,
http://www.sailingtexas.com/smacgregor26x149.html
not used much but left neglected,
Boat and trailor looks in good shape apart from a few repairable chips and he reports blisters, although i cant see on the photos. The honda 4 stroke 50 is also a great motor

Re: Newby-Looking to buy!! any tips or suggestions?
Yea, i second what the other guys said, try to avoid anything that looks neglected and just check the hull over to be sure there's no blisters and general neglect there, especially on an exposed hull with no paint. i started doing a bit of reading up on it when i saw the 2001 :macx: on yachtworld fo...

Re: Negotiating a price on a new Mac
If youre around the Wisconsin area then give Bill at Boats for Sale a call, the guys on the forum say he's a pleasure to deal with and he'll give you a good deal. He has a nice low cost deck package that includes all the essential bits you need to get you going without ripping a hole in your pocket ...

Re: $14400 for a 26X no motor?
I found the info on Rogers boat, it's a 2003 so it doesnt look like too bad a deal, the link i got it from was http://www.macgregorsailboats.com/specials.html and it reads Also available: 26X with merc 50hp, Roger MacGregor’s test boat from 2003 and the same boat used as a comparison to the new M in...

Re: $14400 for a 26X no motor?
hi O, I'm sure Rogers boat is nice but its going to be a an early model i presume if it was used as their promo boat for brochures. Those had the earlier steering rated for 300lbs instead of the later system at 2000lbs as well as balsa decks which are reportedly softer. For me theres still the freig...

Re: $14400 for a 26X no motor?
Thanks for the responses and for all the help!! I think the general assumption is that the boat and package is an ok but not a great deal, especially for the current sluggish times were having right now, i mean if it had an 02 50hp 4 stroke on the back it would be a different story and i'd already b...

$14400 for a 26X no motor?
Hi, Just some general opinions please from the guys and gals on the forum that know more than me, i might be able to get hold of a 2002 :macx: on a private sale for $14400 Some plus points are its a clean boat, with the usual mac extras (that should really be standard :| ) and a few luxuries as well...

Re: Newbie from QC on a quest for an X...
Hi Q1, The M is a marvelous little boat IMHO and i'm a fan of the blue hull (much to pokerricks disgust i'm sure!!) but what i did like with the X was the swing up centreboard for the St lawrence river, and also the $$$ are a factor too and at the moment there are some pretty nice used :macx: out th...
