Re: Suzuki DF50 - has anyone replaced the trim relay?

Thanks guys. Yeah the engine starts just fine (don't worry Mike I hooked up the hose 1st) and the battery connections are good. Thanks for the diagram and for the photos with the arrows. You know, I looked right at those relays and didn't realize what they were 'cause they look so different from oth...

Suzuki DF50 - has anyone replaced the trim relay?

Dang I was planning to sail tomorrow too. I can hear a faint click when I operate the o/b switch or the switch on the throttle. Nothing happens. Batteries are good and tested. I searched this forum and the Suzuki forum and didn't find anything. I figure that it's the relay. Where is it / what does i...

Re: Catalina Anyone? (for Jul-Aug 2008)

Well? How did it go? We couldn't make it as we had something Saturday. We were out Sunday and met up with a couple on a 2005 (blue) Mac visiting from Phoenix, AZ. Conditions were very nice. So who made it?

We went to Cat Harbor (on the back side of Two Harbors) 3 weeks ago with another Mac. Although it's farther (43 mi from MDR) anchoring there is so nice and easy, it's free, and it's so calm that you can really sleep well. It's a half-mile walk to Two Harbors. We are interested in going again in mid ...

Great! I'm still fooling with propellers, and hoping to get a self-steering rig someday. Are you going to Catalina June 6-7-8? Hope to see you there again. See other thread.

Catalina Island - Cat Harbor Shindig - June 6-8

I just got a call from SailTropico - there's gonna be a Mac flotilla cruise & raft-up at Cat Harbor in a couple weeks. Mike Inmon is the organizer. Sounds great, and we're going! We did this two years ago with six boats together and 5 scattered on the lee side of the island. It would be great to...

The Coast Guard won't let you beach anywhere now, in this post 9-11 world. They've yelled at me several times for being too close to shore at Malibu, Venice, and Redondo Beaches. I must be deaf, 'cause I keep doing it. When you have a Mac, you can always just shrug and do it again somewhere else - '...

Hey Ric, I've also been considering the same thing. When you're sailing in Mission Bay, can't you just drop your mast to get under those bridges? They don't look too low. I want to sail around MB and beach wherever. That's real disappointing to hear about the poor public ramp conditions in SD. We ar...

Ray, my experiences with my 2005 M are similar to that of Matt, Harrison, and Capt. Jim. When I reach the public ramp, it takes me 50 minutes to untie everything, raise the mast, attach the boom & mainsail, cushions, GPS, and fenders, and splash it. When I return to the boat after parking the ri...

As I trailer to the water every time I go out, and my "rig" is a 2004 Toyota Sienna, I am much more concerned about dragging the front of the trailer. This would happen frequently until I relocated the spare tire a couple inches higher and added auxilary rear air suspension as recommended ...

It's 38 miles from Dana Point to Avalon. You will make it on one tank, if it is completely full and conditions are good. Like the other launch locations, leave as early in the morning as you can. As DP is more southerly than Marina Del Rey or Long Beach, your vector to Avalon will result in heading ...

Thanks to all for your sincere concerns and comments. I hope that something can be learned from this so that this situation won't happen again. Let me clear up some of the questions: No loose rigging. Rigging wasn't too tight either. No accidents. No corrosion. Boat never left with rigging up, excep...

Dismasted Under Sail! Hate it when that happens . . . .

Saturday, 15kt steady W winds, 3-4' swell, 75 degrees, 4 crew, 3 hours Marina Del Rey to Palos Verdes Point, 3 hours back on a port tack close-hauled - all was nice until we heard a loud snap! I looked up but didn't see or feel anything, so what was that? We kept going. But then, the boat started ge...

Mike, the crew of Definite Addiction and our dogs send their sympathies. It was fun sailing with her, and I know how much she meant to you.

We will miss Bridget The Wonder Dog.

I posted this the day after the party but it disappeared. Where do they go? Here's some choice pics - the night pictures of the whole group on the dock were too dim to post, too bad. But check out this fireworks photo! http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i114/mkaragianis/Fireworks.jpg http://i70.photo...
