Tohatsu 50 EPLTO
Hi Just started my second season on Lake windermere here in the UK. Third trip out and the Tohatsu starts running really bad. Not being a mechanical person I changed the Spark Plugs, but no improvement. On checking the middle cylinder of the 3, I found it with lots of water contamination. Speaking t...

steering cable
Hi, I wonder if you can help me. I am preparing my 00X for the new season (doing all the cosmetic jobs!) when I tried to turn the steering wheel and it was jammed. After quite alot of force it eventually freed itself and is working again. I sprayed alot of WD40 up the linkage on the transom and this...

Removing the Center Board on the trailer
Hi, I have taken my 26X out of the water after my first season. I would like to check the center board but on my trailer there is a support resting bar right across where the board would drop down. Has anyone any suggestions as how I can lift the boat on the trailer high enough for me to remove the ...

Whats in the mast?
I have just taken my 26X out of the water for the winter and have lost the wind vane of the top of the mast! Plus the cap what held the vane in place. Firstly can you buy new caps for the top of the mast? Secondly if I was to buy one of those NASA marine electronic wind speed / direction meters will...

How Many Shrouds should I have?
As some of you will know this is my first season of owning a Mac 26X. I must say except for bashing into the jetty twice my family and I are beginning to enjoy sailing! Last saturday a Mac owner introduced himself to and started to compare boats, basically boring each other!! He mentioned that I hav...

When I bought the boat I had 3 hours with the previous owner. but as the season progresses I have started to ask myself questions, like - am I doing this right? Is there a better way to do a certain operation? having looked around the marina and seeing all these halyards leading to the cockpit I won...

Raising the main sail
Hi I think my boat may have a piece missing. To raise the main sail on my 26x I have to stand on the cabin roof and pull on the halyard whilst my son feeds the sail into the mast chanel. I then tie the halyard of the best I can and return to the safety of the cockpit. I have a clamp device on the ro...

How do you clear the transom draining hole?
My transom drain is blocked and keeps filling up with water. I have tried pushing a wire clothes hanger down the hole but it stops at something hard!
Is the drain outlet behind the plate what supports the engine brackets?
Advice please
David

what is the model number?
Hi,
my water pump is leaking on my 2000 boat. I presume it is made by Whale.Do any of you know the model number fitted to this boat? I believe you can buy service kits to replace the seals.
Thanks
David

Oh No I've Hit The jetty!!
I've had my boat 8 weeks been on her 3 times, the last time the wind was blowing a bit hard (thats my excuse) and I hit the jetty quite hard. I have cracked the Gel coat along the crease about 1 foot above the water line, the crack is about 4 inches long ( Vertically) Is there an easy way, say cheap...
