Re: Best way to shorten CDI furler?

I added the Johnson lever. It made a huge difference getting the front stay attached. The genoa used the whole furler so I had to move the hound assembly up about the 5 inches you suggested. Adding turnbuckles to the side stays was an easy solution there and issue solved with no noticeable effect on...

Re: 1993 MacGregor 26S

I have 1992 S and my centreboard pulls almost fully into the hull. Only about an inch shows. I could be there is a fitting where the cable meets the board that is hitting the tube entrance, or a knot if it is all rope. As for lowering, I seem to recall there are holes to let water into the board to ...

We regularely use Moon River Marina on Woods Bay and Moose-Deer Point Marina on 12 Mile Bay. Both offer good launcing and trailer storage.

Re: Holes in Cockpit Bulkhead, Butchered for Depthfinder? -

It was common in the era of the "D" and "S" to mount matching Standard Horizon depth and speed gauges or the gauges and a compass . All three required the holes you have. If you have two through hulls on the floor of the laz then you had the two gauges. If only one then you likel...

Re: Water Ballast pump out

I pump the ballast on my 26S every time it loads onto the trailer. Makes cranking it up to the bow snubber effortless and the pull on the truck minimal. I use a Coleman 12 mattress pump and a short piece of rubber tube with a plumbing fitting that fits the vent hole as shown in Sumner's photo. Doesn...

Re: DO I NEED THIS?

My plate is heavier than yours and bolted through the hull. In your case I would remove the plate, patch whatever holes result and be done with it.

Re: DO I NEED THIS?

My 92 26s came with the same grounding plate in, it looks to be, close to the same place. The only thing grounded to it was the Loran C unit that one of the POs had installed. My bet is if you could search back through your Mac's history you will find it once had a Loran C. I took out the Loran but ...
