Re: 26M daggerboard
That is looking good, I like the idea, better than adding a lead ball at the bottom (it would create a lot of drag when motoring). I saw someone pouring molted lead into lower end of factory daggerboard. What you think about that, is it working? Also have two concerns about your mod. 1. Galvanizatio...

Re: Odin
I'm very familiar with the boat myself. 1-2 years after a purchase of my first Mac 2003 26M I got very interested in an Odin or Mast 28 if you will. But comparing apples to oranges Mac 26 is a better boat for the buck, easier to handle and trailer etc. that's why I'm a proud owner of my 2006 Mac 26...

Re: Real weight of Mac 26M
Thanks for your input. I've got 20' slings that should handle up to 12600 lbs in U configuration each. I have couple different puley options which should be enough to handle the boat. Barn has 4 of cross beams on each side of boat spaced out about 13' apart. First set is around 8' from floor a secon...

Real weight of Mac 26M
My 2006 Mac 26M "Elanka" is safely stored in an old style post and beam barn in my backyard. I need to pull out trailer from under it for service. I wanted to use structural beams of my barn to suspend it while servicing the trailer. I have couple of different styles of pulleys one 1 ton I...

Re: How often do you change your water pump impeller?
Does anyone on the board have detailed instructions on how to change out the impeller on a 2005 Honda BF50A LRT? Thank-you in advance for your assistance. :) Fairwinds, Jim :macm: I could use them too. Seasonally changing oil is easy but replacing impeller instructions could potentially save an exp...

Re: Home Weather Station with Wind Speed.
I have one of these at home. They are good units but I doubt if would work on Mac. Yes it does show wind direction but only when it's fixed mounted and after lots of adjustments @ the top. It's meant to be used in fixed position. I'd love to install one of those real marine wireless units but they a...

Re: Doyle Cradle Cover + Lazy Jacks
I've purchased my Doyle Lazy jack/cover system from KH the end of last season and installed it this year. I totally agree with extreem with what he pointed out. I had reefing line installed few years back and it worked really nice but its performance is slightly degraded by the Cover now. If it come...

Re: Chesapeake Bay
Count me in! Let us konw when. We're based in Rock Hall, MD just across from Baltimore. It would be fantastic to hold a Mac gathering this summer on the Bay... Which marina are in? What kind of rates are you paying? I was considering Rock Hall for my base port for this year but changed my mind and w...

Darek, Just like Lake Champlain, Lake George can have storms suddenly come at you. They can come over the mountains rather quickly. Whichever lake you go to, be on the look out. :o  Keep you radio on, and always keep a check on the horizons. Ray Thanks for the info Ray. Is it a new pic on you...

Re: replacing a light with a fan
I think it's a good idea, I've never thought of that.
Especially for V berth, but I would use the wire fron head side instead, my son likes to read there.
I have done it with my stereo, tapped into light feed wire.
