Re: etec issue
Just saw this thread... I have had an e-tech 90 on my 26m for about 7 1/2 years. Runs great - only problems were occasional water in tank... additive helped. Very fast and smooth. Lots of hours on it. Hope this helps.

Re: Mac 26m with 75HP?
I just put a Etec 90 and absolutely love it. It's fast, handles well, quiet, and the boat handles it just fine.

Re: Rigging The Mac Is Now A Breeze
I have never tried to remove the furling system, I don't know how to expose the turnbuckle. That is something I need to do, in order to make sure the pin is in the turnbuckle. How do you expose it, and how do you remove the system as you photo shows. I bought the boat used last winter and haven't ha...

Re: Rigging The Mac Is Now A Breeze
I am about to make the mod that Kelly discussed. My furling system has about 12" of stay above the sail. Rather than move the mast hound, I was thinking of just shortening the stay above the sail, thus raising the sail and furling system to attach the lever. Do any of you think that there is an...

Re: Hight above water
I was reading this post hoping to get an answer. Can the Mast be lowered with the boom and sail intact to pass under a bridge, or does the boom need to be removed?

Re: Anyone with experience with 90 hp on Macgregor
Well, I decided today and ordered my ETEC 90. Thank you all for your input. It was very helpful. I got an Unbelieveable price...must be due to economy slowdown. But now I have a few more questions? Any idea what prop would be best or how to choose a prop? Also, some of you suggested the M might get ...

Re: Anyone with experience with 90 hp on Macgregor
Thanks for your help. I called Bluewater yachts and they said they thought the ETEC 90 would be too loud, especially at 7-9mph speeds. Do any of you have idea if that is valid?

Anyone with experience with 90 hp on Macgregor
I have an 06 M with a Suzuki 50. My best speed without ballast is 13.5 knots after several prop changes. I am now really wanting to put a ETEC 90 so that I can comfortably cruise at 20 mph. Can anyone give me feedback with regard to this decision and or experience with these more powerful motors.
