Re: Adios
By the way, I'm in Jupiter Florida now, not Albuquerque. I guess. I should change that.

Re: Adios
You are taking the same path my wife and I took. In November we traded in or 2001 X and bought a 2014 Ranger 25. We are still on a learning curve, but are loving it. We had to get a more "bridge friendly " boat for out here, plus my wife was ready for less drama. We enjoyed the times we ha...

Leaving the desert
After seeing how much fun Mac owners have who live near the water, my wife and I are no longer willing to drive 3 hours to a lake. We just returned from the Miami boat show and instead of buying a new boat, we bought a townhouse in Jupiter, Fl. Any advice from people in that area as far as best plac...

Congratulations Ruth and Sum,
We wish you nothing but hapiness and safe adventures. My wife and I love reading your posts and are planning on moving to Florida in the next year or so, depending on how our jobs go. Now, thanks to your great adventure, WE CAN'T WAIT
Best wishes,
Brian and Loretta

My wife and I are looking at getting a stack pack. How hard is it to set up and take down for trailering?

Fred, My wife and I will be in Weston Feb. 19-25th. We are going to the Strictly Sail Miami show and Weston was as close to Miami as we could find. We are also driving up to Stuart/Pt st lucie area to look at some properties. We are hoping to retire in the next couple of years and get out of the des...

Re: Security on board, especially when overnighting
We were anchored in a shallow cove last summer at Elephant Butte in southern New Mexico last year and heard a noise in the middle of the night. I got up to check with my 1,000,000 candle power spotlight and found 2 people skinny dipping about 10 yards from our boat. They didn't steal anything, but I...

Rigging a ChuteScoop
Good morning everyone. This past weekend I tried to use my cruising spinnaker and chute scoop for the first time. I had the sail in the sock, ran the sheets and tack line to the cockpit and was ready to deploy the sail. When I pulled on the down haul for the chute scoop, nothing was attached and all...

Re: Daydreamin on the ICW
I was stationed in Savannah in the early 80's and remember Tybee Island and Riverstreet well. Unfortunately, I wasn't into sailing then, just partying on Tybee Island and Riverstreet. I heard I had a great time! :| Post some pics of the area if you get a chance. Stuck in the desert out here it's nic...

Re: Tippy Trailer
I just put 2 jack stands at the rear of the trailer. I also put one up front in case the jack on the trailer slips. Haven't had a problem yet.

Re: 5 in1 Gas Grill ?
We have a stern mounted Magma grill also, but last year we bought the Safari Chef and like it. When we're at the marina I put it on the floor of the cockpit with the hatch open and stand in the galley and cook breakfast. I haven't tried it while anchored, but the unit is pretty sturdy plus with the ...

Paint for rudders
I have some minor fiberglass repairs to do once it warms up and need to paint the bottom. My rudders also need sanding and painting. During the spring and summer we keep the boat at a marina (fresh water),with the rudders up. What kind of paint can I use for the rudders, and since this will be my fi...

Re: Anyone been to Navajo Reservoir?
When my wife and I first bought our :macx: , one of the first places we took it was to Navajo. We used to take our pontoon boat up there years ago. We were new to sailing and pretty much stayed in the middle of the lake. The winds were steady and we had no problems. When you go up in the canyons, th...

That's just wrong!
I'm looking out the window at my
and looking at the thermometer reading 39 degrees. I really need to relocate. If it wasn't for that darn job thing!
Have fun and fair winds.

Re: How many of you get sea sick?
I've only been sick at sea once, that was on a cruise ship. I think it had something to do with Little Smokies and rum and coke. Not a good combination!
I experienced both stages of sea sickness. Stage 1: You're afraid you're going to die, and Stage 2: you're afraid you're going to live!
