Re: 26m sailing performance
I sail wil my plotter/depth sounder on all the time, and I am also a bit suprised that there is little data around about performancece on this site.I don't eactly try to push the boat but have a reasonable amount of experience in a variety of boats from windsurfers and performance cats, to lasers, f...

Re: Lunatics on the Swan River
Unless you are under motor in a channel, power must give way to sail. If you watch the ferries in the swan, they are very good at staying away from start lines of the multiple saying fleets. (they will actually stop and wait) Don't count on size in your favour. I used to sail a laser (4.5m) and if I...

Re: MacGregor performance in Perth ?
Andrew, I currently sail my Mac out of Dampier, but have done a lot of sailing in other types of boats in both the swan and in open water. If sailing a Mac to Rotto, you should probably leave on the morning easterly and return in the afternoon as it would take a long time to get there into the wind ...

Re: OVERHEAD fiberglassing
Back on the subject of overhead fibreglassing, I find that plastic 'cling wrap' works really well for any small repair, especially overhead. Lay the cling wrap on a flat surface making sure it doesn't crinkle. tape if required. Lay glass and resin as required on cling wrap. Then place the exposed si...

Macs, Cats and Lasers
Brianhar (and anybody else), I have raced Nacra's, Hobies and lasers, and am currently considering a MAC as a waterbago. I have yet to find any threads that discuss how the MAC goes upwind. Can you compare it to anything dingy like on the water when pointing. ie a Laser Radial, Mirror etc? With a fl...

E-TECH injection pattern
I may be barking up the wrong tree, but I have a 115hp 2007 etech on a 6m 'stink' boat (for fishing) and have been told that the injection pattern changes between 2000-2500rpm. When trawling at low revs, the injection pattern can sometimes fluctuate as the boat surges through wave action. The sound ...

West Oz M26s
I'm yet to get an M26, but am planning to buy a new one soon. My problem is that I have yet to seen either an M26 or X26 in the flesh as there aren't many in Western Australia. Is there anybody in the Perth area whom is happy to show me what an M26 looks like? If you are, please sent me a PS, and I'...
