New Mast for Mac 26M

I am in need of a new mast for my 2008 26M. I can take delivery in Detroit or Windsor, Ontario Canada. Do I go directly to MacGregor Factory or are there suppliers that can provide a proper OEM or better mast? I want to get a replacement ASAP to get back on the water. I have all the hardware and jus...

Re: Mast Anchor Light Installation

Response to Jim Yes, I tried a heavy wire on a reel. You can push hard on it since it is laterally supported by the mast and styro foam. I tried a bulb at the end to make the hole bigger, then a sharp end. I pushed, prodded, twisted and used pliers but to no avail. I will now have to resort to previ...

Re: 2010 Red Bull Air Race - Windsor / Detroit

I live on Lake Erie, work in Windsor and have a slip on Lake St. Clair for my 26M. You will not have a problem getting a launch site, marina or overnight anchorage. Contact me and I will provide a list of Marinas, anchorages and launches on the Canadian side. If you plan an extended stay I will prov...

Quick Release Shroud for Forestay: Installation

I purchased a quick release shroud for the forestay from Kelly Hanson for my 2008 26M. It did not come with instructions. In looking over the situation I will need to move the Upper Shroud & Forestay strap currently bolted through the mast. It appears that it needs to move up between 8" to ...

Mast Anchor Light Installation

I want to install a LED Mast Anchorage Light at the very top of my mast on my 2008 26M. I need to run a wire through the mast from the bottom to the top of the mast or visa versa. After numerous attempts to run a "fish wire" through the mast from either end through the styro-foam packed ma...

Re: Boat Insurance for Canadians going to Florida and Bahamas

I have coverage with Skippers from Toronto. They are Brokers for Aviva. They covered me for transportation from Colorado. I have a call into them and will let you know if they will provide coverage.

My coverage seems reasonable.

Re: Canadian MacGregorss can now be used for charters with TC ok

Thanks for the information and thanks for letting this be posted. It is interesting for us Canucks, especially the tax write-off implications. I hope you will post more information and the webmaster will let it be shown. I don't consider this advertising just good information for us in Canada.

Re: New Aluminium Trailer ?

To add another variable to this issue, one also has to consider the condition of our highway system. My point is that the trailer has to be over designed and rugged enough to withstand highway speeds and a government maintained highway system or lack thereof. When I pulled the boat from the dealer i...

Re: New Aluminium Trailer ?

I have a 2008 M and Mac Aluminum Trailer. With little gear and no ballast you can easily see the tires are not vertical and tilt out at the bottom. The tires have worn unevenly in the inside from the trip from Colorado to Windsor, ON. Before a long trailer trip I took the trailer with boat to a repu...

Dry Dock Support to Expose 100% of Hull

I have a 26M. Planning to put on barrier and anti-foul paint on the hull. I want to support the boat from above to expose 100% of the hull so that I do not have to separately paint the patches where it is either on the trailer or supported by stands at a later date. I have a shop and two fork lifts ...
