Re: Bimini and boom clearance
A slightly different way of setting up a bimini. More than 6'2" of headroom at the wheel As long as you keep the boom vang cleated there is no interference with the sail or boom. Essential when the admiral is a redhead and burns easily. Obviously you can't link it with an infill to a dodger( if...

Re: Mast Gate
I have only done a partial closure of the gate on my old TS and did not have any problems. However it had a more square profile on the trailing edge so it was simple to tap down the edges. As long as cracks don't occur it should be achievable. Aluminium (aluminum) is fairly malleable.

Re: Mast Gate
I had the same arrangement on my old trailer sailer which used a bolt rope. If you have sail slugs now I would suggest carefully hammering the edges of the opening back to their original position and then cutting a small section out to insert the slugs fairly close to the boom so that you may not ev...

Fond Farewell
We just said goodbye to our M. It left for the sunny shores of Queensland. We now have a new Beneteau Oceanis 34 which we are very excited about. I shall probably continue my daily browse of this site as I am definitely addicted. I may even put my 2 cents worth in every so often. Couple of pics of t...

Re: Rudders
I too have used an acrylic washer to reduce the play in the rudder stock but there appears to be a lot more movement in the various linkages to the steering cable which are all bolts through drilled holes with very average tolerances. It still seems to work OK but I just like things to work even bet...

Rudders
Lying in bed one night I was thinking mods. What can I do about the rudders? I would like to have less slop in the responsiveness of the rudders and am tired of connecting and reconnecting the motor. Here's what I thought of and I am quite prepared to be shot down in flames. If a housing was attache...

Hi John. Have you checked out Blue Reef Yachts' boat cover? Not cheap but looks really good for both mast up and mast down. Cheers Nick

Re: 26M Original Steel Trailer Specs
Had a look at my trailer and not much info on the label. You are correct that the max weight is 1905kg and I was told by Philip King when I bought my M that the trailer weight was 330kg. Cheers Nick

Re: Wiring for hatch mounted solar panels (26M)
If the wires exit the track exactly half way down and enter the hatch at the back then the wires can be fairly taut in both the fully closed and fully open positions which is what it is in most of the time. Cheers Nick

Re: "Safety" cables - replace them with chains!
I have always had chains and a galvanised shackle to attach it to the hitch on all my trailers and boat trailers. Even hire trailers have the same. Cheers Nick

Dave, I have the boom raised by the topping lift so I can walk around the cockpit without banging my head(6'2")
